Looking for an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and inspiration? FRIENDS of Broomfield invites everyone to experience “A Day in the Life,” the organization’s 21st Annual Variety Show, on Sunday, October 11 at 3:00 PM at Parsons Theatre in Northglenn. Doors open at 2:30 PM for this unforgettable performance celebrating the confidence, creativity, and talents of the individuals who make FRIENDS such a special organization. More than just a fundraiser, this beloved tradition celebrates the people who take the stage and the supporters who cheer them on year after year.

Each year, FRIENDS participants share their gifts through singing, dancing, and entertaining performances that capture the hearts of everyone in the audience. Months before the curtain rises, participants and volunteers come together for rehearsals filled with music, laughter, encouragement, and fun. Whether preparing for a solo performance, group number, or new choreography, every rehearsal builds confidence, friendships, and memories that last long after the final bow.

This year’s theme, “A Day in the Life,” celebrates the moments, milestones, and everyday experiences that make each person’s story unique. Audiences can expect an uplifting afternoon filled with familiar songs, energetic performances, and heartfelt moments that highlight the importance of inclusion, belonging, and celebrating one another.

For 21 years, the FRIENDS Variety Show has become one of Broomfield’s favorite annual traditions. Families, friends, volunteers, and community members return year after year, not only for the entertaining performances, but to celebrate the accomplishments of the remarkable individuals who make FRIENDS such an incredible organization. Every ticket purchased helps create opportunities, while every round of applause reminds participants how valued they are.

The Variety Show showcases what FRIENDS is truly about. Founded in 1998 as a grassroots parent advocacy network, FRIENDS of Broomfield was created to improve the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. Today, the organization serves more than 185 adults through person-centered programs that promote independence, confidence, and community involvement.

Services include Day, Residential, Community Living, Supported Employment, Social and Travel, and Behavioral Support, all designed to help participants live full and meaningful lives. At FRIENDS, they believe a meaningful life is built one meaningful day at a time, and every program, activity, and opportunity helps participants create those moments.

While the Variety Show raises important funds to support these programs, those who attend know the real magic happens on stage. The smiles are genuine, the excitement is contagious, and the standing ovations come naturally as participants proudly share their talents with the community that has supported them throughout the years. It is a reminder that everyone deserves the opportunity to shine and that a supportive community can make all the difference.

Whether it is your first FRIENDS Variety Show or your twenty-first, you will leave with a smile on your face, a song in your heart, and a greater appreciation for this remarkable organization and the amazing people it serves.
