The aftermath of an injury accident can be a grueling, stressful, and confusing time that extends the

I had a chance to sit down with Dr. Ramos and learn a little bit about his personal story and his journey to build the most innovative law firm in the state.
Dr. Ramos grew up in rural Nevada to working class parents. He was the oldest of eight children and also part of a graduating class of eight.
His pursuit of a medical career brought him to Colorado where he studied in the University Hospital system. “I love medicine,” he said with a broad smile. While working as an attending physician for 10 years at University Hospital, he was frequently called upon to give expert testimony on medical cases. Through more than 100 court appearances and hundreds of written testimonies, an interest in the law and a realization of other ways to help people came into focus.
“By testifying on all of those cases, I realized that a person’s story does not always get across in court if the person representing them does not have full expert understanding,” explained Dr. Ramos. So, he started working straight night shifts at the hospital and attending DU Law School during the day.
In 2012, he opened Ramos Law, a practice that has grown to eight Colorado offices, including 70 attorneys and 300 total staff members and a dedicated medical consult team. “They know medicine,” he commented. “My staff understands their roots and as we grow, we have hired more team members with medical backgrounds, who in turn help keep the entire staff educated.” He added that continuous education of the staff is non-negotiable.
Even as Ramos Law has grown, Dr. Ramos remembers his roots and said, “I’m a small-town guy.” And he maintains small-town values in his business; creating a work environment where people want to be, enjoy working, and feel valued; and supporting organizations that share his ideals – including the Ramos Law partnership with the Denver Broncos, local high schools, and other Colorado sports teams and non-profits.
“When you become a big business, people think you are corporate. The Ramos Law organizational values are faith, family, health, and business. You do what is right,” he shared. “I am here because I am passionate about medicine and law and investing in people.”
