About Mary Ann Littler
Mary Ann is a Colorado native, having grown up in Wheat Ridge. She and her husband, David (married 45 years), have two sons, Greg and Danny.
She has worked as the Chief Development Officer at AdventHealth Avista in Louisville for 18 months. Prior to that, Mary Ann has served as a trustee for 26 years on hospital boards including Porter, Littleton, Castle Rock, and AdventHealth Avista. The organization is building a new Broomfield facility at Hwy 7 and 1-25 that is slated to open in mid-summer 2029, she said.
A favorite pastime she and David enjoy is following the Formula One Grand Prix. They have been to the event numerous times all over the world, including Britain, Austria, France, and Austin (twice).
Our Broomfield caught up with Mary Ann while she and David were in Switzerland before they attended the Italian Grand Prix.
Tell us a little about your career path.
She attended the University of Colorado (UNC) as a business major and worked 35 years in high tech, finishing as a global executive. While at Lucent and Avaya, she built 26 centers for global support around the world. Mary Ann also has her own company doing business coaching and consulting.
Mary Ann explained that she loves her job because she gets to connect patients, physicians, and staff members supporting hospital-related philanthropic events. She also feels community outreach is exciting. And she adds, tongue firmly in cheek, “I work to support our Formula One habit.”
Are you a member of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce Board and do you participate with that organization?
Yes, she said. She’s also Chair of the Board for the Women’s Foundation of Colorado, supporting nonprofits for women and families in every county in the state and chairs the UNC Foundation, providing scholarships in Colorado and beyond.
What is your favorite restaurant and park in Broomfield?
Mary Ann said she really likes Community Park near city hall and a couple of favorite restaurants are 740 Front in Louisville and Infinitus Pie Pizza in Broomfield.
Who is the most interesting person you’ve met in our community?
She said she really respects CCOB city manager Jennifer Hoffman. “Jen is a Formula One fan, too,” she jokes. “I love her intention about wanting to take care of the people who live in Broomfield. She and I are like-minded in that way.”
What is something you find unique about AdventHealth Avista?
AdventHealth Avista has a great number of patients and staff from Broomfield, she said. “We care about the health and well-being of people who work and live in Broomfield. AdventHealth is about whole-person care and we take care of our health and community that same way.”
What advice would you give people living in or relocating to Broomfield?
She advises you’ll want to find physicians connected to Advent-Health. And find ways to enjoy the community – Broomfield is a big community; it’s a safe and vibrant community. “You have everything you need here, plus it’s in a beautiful location.”
Who or what inspires you to be a better person?
The patients I see in the hospital really inspire me, she said. “I love speaking to them. It brings me joy and it inspires me at the same time.” Another person is Dayna Scott, executive director of FISH Family Resource Center. “She is loving, determined, and nothing gets in her way,” Mary Ann said.
Inspired by Dayna, Mary Ann helped create a Food Pantry at the hospital last year for patients and team members. “It’s about creating a place that offers dignity.”
